  • This process offers a clear coating with bare metal corrosion resistance that is equal of the hexavalent chromium conversion treatment that are still currently available and provides a base coat with excellent adhesive properties for wet paints, powder coats and lacquers. It does not contain Lead, Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury or Polybrominated Phenois (PBB & PBDE) meaning that is compliant with ELV, RoHS and WEEE Directives.

  • This is a mechanical process used to remove marks (die lines, scratches, machining marks, etc) from the surface of parts prior to further processing. The polished finish can be left as a ‘stand alone’ finish, if required. We use fixed spindle machinery with a variety of polishing mops and compounds to cater for a wide range of shapes and sizes of components.

    Using abrasive nylon wheels, we are able to offer a variety of grades of of brushed finishes which are useful for hiding / covering up marks on the substrate material.

    When chemically brightened, anodised and dyed, brushed aluminium parts offer a cost effective alternative to stainless steel.

  • We have over 30 years experience in the operation of a nitric acid based chemical brightening process. It is normally used as a pre-treatment (to anodising) to achieve a bright reflective finish on parts that are to be used in a highly decorative application – subsequent anodising preserves and protects the bright finish.

    To obtain the very best finish, parts should be mechanically polished first to remove any scratches or other surface blemishes.

    Please note (as a result of their chemical make-up) not all aluminium alloys are ideally suited to chemical brightening. If you require any advice on this subject, feel free to discuss your needs with us.

  • This process is used to achieve Satin/Matt finishes on aluminium parts prior to anodising. It is particularly suited to aluminium extrusions where a heavy etching treatment will hide most die-lines and other surface imperfections whilst leaving an attractive decorative finish.

    As with chemical brightening, it should be noted that different aluminium alloys can produce differing results.

  • The anodising process produces a film which is porous. These pores make the anodic film strongly absorbent and, therefore, ideally suited to dyeing.

    We operate a wide variety of dyes and are able to produce many different coloured finishes ranging from pale golds to deep blacks. We can then use either hot or cold sealing to retain the colour and provide corrosion resistance to the product.

    Our standard colours are: Yellow Gold, Orange Gold, Green, Turquoise, Blue, Red (x2), Copper, Olive Brown, Violet and Black. We are happy to look at other colours if  it is economically viable.

  • We are now pleased to be able to offer our own, in-house bead blasting facility.

    Our understanding of the anodising process has helped us to avoid the problem of ‘shadowing’ so often experienced when processing bead blasted components. As a pre-treatment on anodised aluminium parts, a beaded finish can produce a diffused light output from bright, reflective faces or create a third dimension on the surface of those important, aesthetic components.
